Fund the Future!
Two billion children’s futures are threatened by the climate crisis. Together, we can change that. I joined Our Children's Trust because I was inspired by its pioneering work to use the courts to hold government accountable to children on climate. For me it's the honor of a lifetime to be part of an incredible team of lawyers and professionals pouring their brains, hearts, and determination into this vital mission.
People are often surprised to learn that when Our Children's Trust wins a victory in court (such as our big win in Montana last year) or negotiate a settlement (such as our big win in Hawaii this year), we do not win money. Instead, we win binding, court-enforceable change. For example, because of our 2024 victory in Hawaii, the state must transition quickly to a zero-emission transportation system. We provide all services to our youth plaintiffs free of charge, and every penny of this vital work is funded by donors like you.
I want Our Children's Trust to be able to keep doing this groundbreaking work in the new year with the same human force that brought us victories in 2024 and 2023. The coming year should be a time for us to charge ahead to greater victories, not a time to retreat. But we really do need donations this year more than ever because many big donors directed their giving this year to political campaigns instead of nonprofits like us.
