As a Legal Fellow at Our Children's Trust, I am grateful to have the opportunity to learn from the brilliant, passionate, and caring attorneys who work here and to advance our mission to secure youths' fundamental right to a stable climate system. I could not imagine a better place to begin my legal career.
I learned about Our Children’s Trust during the spring semester of my first year of law school. Amidst a disappointing landscape of environmental statutes that seemed inadequate in dealing with the climate crisis, reading Our Children’s Trust’s federal case, Juliana v. United States, was a beacon of hope for me. As a law student with a background in science, I was impressed by this organization’s commitment to putting the best available science before the judges and the public. I was inspired by these youth who were bravely challenging their government and publicly sharing how the climate crisis has affected their lives.
When Montana youth won the first constitutional climate trial in US history in Held v. Montana, I was motivated to get involved in this work. Now, I am thrilled to be a part of the legal team at Our Children’s Trust developing state and global cases to secure the right to a healthy environment and safe climate on behalf of youth, for generations to come.
The climate crisis is one of the most urgent issues of our time and we are building a movement to achieve transformational, election-proof progress. Creating sustainable systems-based change takes time and resources. Please help me support Our Children's Trust by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends.
Thank you for joining us in this fight. Together, we can make a difference.
